Tiger Creek Preserve hosts 5,000 acres of a diverse array of Central Florida habitats. Owned by the Nature Conservancy, the preserve has been actively managed with prescribed fire for three decades. The 2.5-mile hike will traverse the preserve’s hilly terrain through flatwoods, creek bluffs and sandhill. A footbridge and boardwalk will take us across Tiger Creek, and we’ll cross a sandhill ridge with expansive views through the longleaf pines.
Steve Morrison will lead the tour. Steve worked for The Nature Conservancy for 30 years as a land manager at Tiger Creek Preserve. He is on the board of directors of the Allen David Broussard Conservancy, which oversees the natural lands of Forever Florida as a non-profit conservation organization.
Estimated trip time 2.5 – 3 hours.
This field trip is free for Foundation members and $10 for non-members.
