September 28 @ 9:00 am 12:00 pm

Jacksonville

Join the Florida Wildflower Foundation on Saturday, September 28 at 9am for a fall wildflower hike at Julington-Durbin Creek Preserve, in Duval County.

Meandering through the pine flatwoods, we’ll enjoy the fall colors — from purple Blazing stars (Liatris spp.) to yellow Goldenrods (Solidago spp.) and Blacksenna (Seymeria pectinata). The Summer farewell (Dalea pinnata) should also be in full swing, buzzing with bees and dancing butterflies.

This hike is about 3 miles long and will take approximately 2-3 hours to complete. The terrain is flat, but soft sandy areas are present. A hat and sunscreen or appropriate sun protective clothing are recommended.

Trip cost: Free for members and $10 for non-members. Email RKinane@FlaWildflowers.org to find out if your membership is current or needs to be renewed. To join as a member, visit www.FlaWildflowers.org/support.
