WEBINAR – Designing Landscapes with Native Plants
Stephanie Dunn of Cadence Landscape Architects presents “Designing Landscapes with Native Plants.” This presentation offers an in-depth look into the landscape design process, featuring project examples from Cadence’s portfolio. Stephanie shares her knowledge and professional experience, highlighting the opportunities and challenges of using native plants in landscape design. Her goal is to inspire others to transform their landscapes into refuges that benefit wildlife and the greater ecosystem.
Stephanie Dunn is an associate with Cadence, a South Florida-based landscape architecture firm operating throughout the Gulf South. As a Florida Atlantic University School of Architecture graduate, she brings a unique perspective to landscape and urban design at Cadence. Passionate about Florida’s unique flora, Stephanie promotes alternatives to conventional planting approaches in urban contexts. She has been a member of the Florida Native Plant Society (FNPS) since January 2017 and has served as President of the Broward Chapter since May 2020. In February 2022, Stephanie completed and became a Florida Master Naturalist. Currently, she serves as Vice President on the Friends of Kissimmee Prairie 2024 Board and leads seasonal wildflower walks. Stephanie applies her extensive knowledge of Florida’s ecosystems and native plants to her design work at Cadence, shares her expertise with FNPS chapter members, and lectures throughout Florida on native planting design and regional-specific approaches that enhance landscape resilience.
