2024 Seedlings for Schools Grant Winners

The Florida Wildflower Foundation is thrilled to announce that 42 schools have been awarded Seedlings for Schools grants in 2024. These schools will receive 30 native wildflower seedlings for a garden that they will incorporate into their Pre-K through 12th grade curriculum. Recipients of this grant also receive planting guidance and Florida Wildflower Foundation resources such as our Wild About Wildflowers! Activity Guide, and have the option of receiving additional seedlings in the spring.

To qualify, teachers submitted an application along with three photos of their prepared garden site. The schools span 22 Florida counties. Many of the schools utilize resources from their community, recruiting help and volunteers from local Florida Native Plant Society Chapters or UF/IFAS Master Gardeners. The gardens are not just utilized for science education. They are also used to improve creative writing skills, for meditation, and much more. The application will open again in March 2025.
