Join the Florida Wildflower Foundation for a special visit to the Orlando Wetlands Park on Saturday, January 16.
Jackie Rolly will lead us on a private tour of this unique and beautiful wetland park. Using an open-air tram, we will ride along the park's 23 miles of roads through marshes, hardwood hammocks and along scenic lakes. Along the way, we will stop to birdwatch, botanize and learn how efficient our native plants are at cleaning wastewater. We will also see the new wildflower planting, funded in part by a grant from FWF.
The field trip will begin at 10 a.m. and will last approximately 2 hours. Please arrive early so we can start on time. The park will be closed to the public, so the gates will be locked once we've convened. Bring your binoculars and cameras, water and a lunch or snacks. Long pants, a hat and closed-toe shoes are recommended.
The trip is free for FWF members, and $15 for non-members. Not a FWF member? Become one at www.flawildflowers.org/membership.php.
